Dirty
Dogs 23, Stonecutters 22
This game didn't provide the offensive fireworks that were expected, but it was
a tight contest all the way through. Big names on both sides of the field came
up empty. Westbrook and LenDale White powered the Dirty Dogs to an early lead.
They could only watch as Jones, Edwards, and Reed chased in the late games. Had
Oregon stuck with Favre or gotten Lee Evans into the starting lineup, the afternoon
would have been more relaxing for them. In the end, Dale Street came up one point
short and the Dirty Dogs secured their place in the postseason. These divisional
rivals will face each other again in the opening round of the playoffs.

Lightning
76, Apocalypse 23
Much like the Patriots in the NFL, the Lightning have made a mockery of the supposed
WTFFL parity. They ran away with the scoring title. They put together an undefeated
regular season. Will the postseason be their final coronation? It will be a suprise
if Roseville does not make it deep into the playoffs with a roster where 15 points
barely makes the team's highlight reel. Brady, LTD, and JLew overwhelmed the Apocalypse;
but despite the loss, Highland Park earned a playoff berth in the V.

Pongos
32, Lakers 22
The Pongos did not light up the scoreboard, but the Lakers still let this one
get away. Galloway couldn't work his magic this week and Loeb didn't get anything
out of a QB position that has been a sore spot since Delhomme went down. Perhaps
the Lakers should have dealt with the 'Boats for Kurt Warner when they had the
chance—his 12 would have been nice for the Lakers this week. But, alas,
Brees took his own 12 to the house on Monday night to end the Lakers season.

Speed
28, Pipers 16
Twin Cities needed to hold on to their lead on MNF to claim a playoff spot in
the V Conference, and they managed to get the job done with Hamline's hopes resting
on the arm of Chris Redman. His best target, Roddy White, playing for the Speed.
White scored early, the Speed made it to the postseason, and even the Pipers made
it thanks to Drew Brees and the Pongos. Given the Pipers ugly play of late, they
have the look of a one-and-done in the U Conference dance.

Showboats
38, Alley Cats 33
Going back more than a decade, the only win the Alley Cats have ever recorded
over the Showboats under the current ownership was in the Whale Bowl following
the 1995 season. Ever since, the Showboats seem to use that loss as a motivating
factor whenever they face the Cats. The Showboat coach finally got the Rudi/DeShaun
call right and Cutler had his best game of the season with the Showboats playing
for nothing more than pride. White Bear (with their Empty Set) was betting that
the Lions would air it out against the Cowboys and that the rest of the NFL would
follow suit. Instead, Kevin Jones had a big day on the bench and Addai was also
missing from the Alley Cat starters. Colston had a big game for the Alley Cats,
leading them into the playoffs on a high note. Many smelled it, and the coach
even admitted to the tank. But what are you gonna do? Some might argue that getting
into the playoffs early earns the right to relax. The NFL has proven this for
years.

Robber
Barons 54, Screaming Eagles 23
The Screagle collapse in the last half of the season was astounding. Finishing
with six straight losses, Nord'east fell out of the playoffs after opening the
season 6-2. The Robber Barons rubbed it in a little bit with Moss going off (again)
for 15 while Stallworth laid another egg. Minneapolis wrapped up the #1 seed in
the V Conference.

Buzz
30, Bunnies 27
Front's only motivation in this game was to send their division rival to the Pooper
Bowl. Hasselbeck, Hanson, and Gonzo wanted to make it happen, but Fred Taylor
and Mike Nugent struck back. Down by three on Monday night, Waukesha got a Jenkins
TD in the 4th quarter and avoided the Pooper Bowl with the win.

Communists
45, Neandertals 11
Perhaps Maple Grove was playing for draft position (duh) or perhaps they just
lost faith in their "studs". MBIII (19) and Brandon Marshall (16) put
up enough points for a Neandertal win, but they were riding the pine. The loss
gives Maple Grove another crack at Centerville in the Pooper Bowl since Waukesha
pulled out the win against Front. Centerville may be going to the Pooper Bowl,
but they don't look like a team that will lose once they get there. On a day when
AD was stifled, the Commies showed a consistent attack with Jason Witten leading
the charge.
