Lightning 51, Stonecutters 39
TO and Portis had big games. TJ performed his usual tricks. The Chargers D chipped in a TD with a returned field goal. Brady and LTD played like mere mortals. With a storyline like that, you'd think that Dale Street would be able to pull this one out. Instead, it was the Browns who swung things heavily in Roseville's favor. Jamal "You've Got To Be Kidding Me" Lewis punched it in four times despite averaging less than 2 yards per on 20 carries and Winslow had 11 grabs for a buck-twenty-five. Meanwhile, Braylon Edwards couldn't get any points for the Stonecutters and Reed was left with an insurmountable lead to overcome on Monday night. With the win, the Lightning take a commanding lead in the 4D and appear unlikely to be overtaken in the regular season scoring title race.

Alley Cats 47, Screaming Eagles 14
The big trade that brought Addai to White Bear seems to have revitalized this franchise. The Alley Cats pounced on the Screagles this week. Addai, Jennings and Romo made Fast Willie's Monday night game irrelevant (he did nothing anyway) and just to rub it in, the benched Santonio Holmes (another Centerville product) scored 15 on the bench. Quinn Gray filled in nicely at QB and then was unceremoniously dropped by Nord'east, but the rest of the squad played like they thought that they had a bye week along with Eli.

Lakers 34, Bunnies 33
Front elected not to pick up a bye-week replacement D. That decision proved costly here as D-Saints-6 for the Lakers versus D-none-0 for the Bunnies is conspicuous in the boxscore. There were some available Ds that scored and could have been had cheaply. Instead, big games from Gonzo, Hanson and Hasselbeck could only produce a one-point loss for Front as Loeb was able to overcome having Joey Harrington at QB as well as disappearing acts by Steve Smith and Travis Henry.

Pipers 42, Neandertals 24
Coming off an embarrassing 12-7 loss last week, the Pipers wanted to get things back into high gear. Maple Grove had answers for the Hamline QB and K, but they didn't have an answer for Reggie Bush. JJ held his own against fellow Cowboy RB, MBIII, as the Pipers cruised to victory.

Speed 19, Apocalypse 18
Dunn did it again, with some more bench points for Highland Park. Superman didn't get a TD pass this week but threw for a 2-point conversion and had over 300 yards. Marshawn Lynch was exhibiting his skills both running and throwing the ball. The Titans D, VY, James and Gostkowski scraped together enough points to give the Speed a lead going into Monday night and somehow managed to maintain it with Stover and the Steelers D each only able to accomplish a single point on Monday night for the Apocalypse. Like "The Thing That Should Not Be," this monstrosity was hard to watch coming down the commons at Como Park Senior High, all decked out in black leather and too coarse of facial hair for a young man.

Showboats 33, Pongos 29
Both teams wisely avoided the temptation to start a Bengals RB. It was another rough week for the Showboats on the injury front. Cutler was carted off the field early and LJ was carted off the field after showing that he hadn't totally lost his nose for the endzone. Driver got stuck on 99, but Texas did finally get some points out of the kicking game and the Packers D scored a crucial TD. SA used to own the Showboats, but apparently not any more. Brees exploded for his best game of the season and Folk got a lot of extra points to go along with his one field goal. Como Park got a touchdown out of McGahee on Monday night, but like the little boy requesting home runs of Paul O'Neill via Kramer on "Seinfeld," the Pongos needed two.

Dirty Dogs 42, Communists 39
Adrian "All Day" Peterson has certainly earned his nickname. With it seeming like his name will need to be highlighted every week in the game summaries, we'll go with AD from now on as a matter of efficiency. AD's 3 TDs and nearly 300 yards had the Communists thinking that the revolt against the heavily favored Dirty Dogs could be successful. With 9 from Evans, 9 from LenDale, 6 from Carson and 6 from MJD, Oregon thought that they had squashed the uprising especially with only a single point coming from the Centerville QB and K positions. However, Ahman Green and Joe Jurevicius would not give up the fight in the late afternoon games. Westbrook and Akers tried to put the Commies away for good in the Sunday nighter, but Witten defiantly responded with a TD of his own. Down by only 3, Mark Clayton had a chance to declare victory for the Communists over his former team, but McNair was appalling at QB and the Ravens receiver was a primary recipient of the big nothing of a performance.

Robber Barons 40, Buzz 11
When Minneapolis gets 9 points from the likes of Earnest Graham, they are not going to lose very often. Manning, Moss and Engram made sure that Shayne Graham's quiet day kicking the ball wouldn't hurt the Robber Barons. Things could get uglier for the Buzz on Monday night as they only have Davenport left to go against Ward and Mason.
