![]() It's Wild, Man, Wild! I have to tell you about the other night. My brother Matt fished in a fund-raising pro-am tournament with the Minnesota Wild this summer. Matt (he was the pro) got paired up with one of the minority owners of the team. His name is John Thomas. Matt and John hit it off so well that John gave Matt four Club Level tickets to a Wild game. Club Level is above the suits, but they still cost $75 each and there are bars everywhere! Matt brought me, our brother Kenny, and our father. I have never had so much fun in my life! Between the 1st and 2nd period, I met former University of Minnesota hockey coach Doug Woog. We were waiting for a urinal in the men's room, and he just turned to me and started talking about how many times the Wild hit the pipe. I think it was three times in one minute, and I think he chose to speak with me because I was wearing a North Stars jersey. Then, between the 2nd and 3rd period, I was standing next to the bar, drinking a Winterhook, and Benchwarmer Bob Lurtsema got in line for some suds. I turned to point him out to my brother, and when I turned back, Paul Molitor was talking to him. It was quite the Minnesota sports night. After the game, we stopped in at the Grand 7 for one more beer and the four of us played a game of Checks bubble hockey. My dad is pretty good. www.whaletime.net |
