May 2008:
I'm back! Yeah, it's been a while, but G. and I haven't had much to report the last couple months. I guess taxes are exciting, right? And I'm sure many of you stay awake at night wondering if my dogs are still eating their poop (they are). And what about Greg's facial hair? Is it still there? All this and much more...just keep reading!

I'm going to start backward, from the most recent events to our last update in early February.

Hair:
It's gone. Greg's face is smooth as a baby's fat butt and I've officially got my first mom-cut (sans the baby). Greg gets a clean shave & cut and people can't stop raging about how young he looks. I cut my locks and all I get is, "oh that's the haircut everyone keeps getting" or "you look older, I mean more mature." Did I look immature before? I know I didn't exactly look 21, but I did get a couple of Winnie Cooper comments in my longer hair days. Who wants to be young forever? Like totally, whatever, 4-sure - short hair 4-ever.
The missing season: Spring
Another reason why the update has been delayed is the weather! I've kept holding out for some sunshine and blue skies. Not that I'm being picky, but could a girl get some green grass? It snowed again this last weekend and it's almost May. The dogs love it, but it's starting to wear on this native Californian. The news says this is one of the longest winters we've had in decades. And now that we own a home, we have to shovel snow. I've done it once, but our neighbors are way cool. Most times they plow our driveway & clear our sidewalks before we get home.

Meet the Boxelder Bug:
The boxelder is an adorable little insect that hangs out on the outside of my house and sunbathes in the little sun we're getting. Sure, they are completely harmless, but that's not the point. It's about territory. It's about eminent domain. It's about my domain. And they're not welcomed! They're lucky I have dogs. I had to rethink the Raid and renew my efforts. Looks like soap & water deters them enough for my liking.

I told you the last months have been low-key...I'm writing about boxelder bugs.

Mikko & Jawa:
They keep on growing...and Mikko (the black & tan) is growing at an exponential rate. I think my dog may have an eating problem. What can I say? I love feeding my dogs. They're so happy when they're consuming and that makes me happy. I keep telling Greg that they only have so long on this earth, and I want them happy the entire time. (Note: Carly shouldn't have children for this very reason.) When I come home with shopping bags, they dive into them knowing that a bone lies somewhere beneath the shampoo & conditioner.

St. Patrick's Day Parade:
So the Pope wanted to recognize St. Patrick's Day on Saturday this year and boy-oh-boy did St. Paul embrace that great idea. Greg had another bouncing event downtown and I walked with them during the parade.

Streets downtown are literally filled shoulder-to-shoulder with people, most of which were drinking. But I'll have you know I was a sober driver for the day, so my photos are of the parade only. The rest of the day I watched movies and waited for G. to call for a ride.

St. Patrick's Day Parade:
The photo in the upper right corner is of Ali (St. Paul Bouncing Girl) being bounced right under a skyway. You couldn't tell where the parade started and where it ended. In fact, after it all ends, everyone spills out into the streets (and into the bars) and continue celebrating into the wee hours of the night. I left the festivities around 2 p.m. and returned to my dogs. Just 'cause they're Japanese doesn't mean they should stay alone all day on St. Patty's!

More about the Shiba Inu:
Most people who see pictures of my dogs have questions about their size. I've asked this 6-year-old girl to show the scale of the Shiba Inu. As you can see, they are the same size, only the Shiba Inu doesn't ask you questions like, "Why do you love Cheeba Enus more than children?" To which I reply, "Shiba Inus (emphasizing the proper annunciation) don't ask stupid questions."

Calm down...I'm just kidding.

Goodbye Wild :
Last but not least, we say goodbye to another Wild season. The Avalanche skooted them out of the playoffs and ruined yet another hockey season for this girl. I'm still rooting for the San Jose Sharks, but it's looking like the Dallas Stars (who were previously Minnesota's team, the North Stars) are going to push them out as well.

It sounds like I complain a lot, but really it's much more than that :-) Ask G.

Seriously, I'm a happy girl. I just like poking fun.
